Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese has revealed that he declined a GH¢100,000 offer to perform at Shatta Wale’s concert due to the funeral of his mother-in-law.

In a post shared on X, the rapper disclosed that he will be spending the weekend in Kumasi mourning and burying his mother-in-law, making it impossible for him to honour the performance.

“This weekend I’m mourning and burying my mother-in-law at Kumasi. That’s the reason I turned down the offer of 100k to perform at Shatta Fest. Like the way I go come spoil der,” he wrote.

His statements have since drawn reactions from fans, with many expressing their condolences.

ShattaFest is an annual concert organised by dancehall musician Shatta Wale and is one of the biggest music events on Ghana’s entertainment calendar, attracting performances from several top artistes.
