The NPP believes cocoa farmers have been deceived by the current government. One of the key issues is that the government promised to pay around GH₵7,000 per bag of cocoa but has failed to honour that promise.
Speaking on the issue, the MP for Ejisu, *Lawyer Kwabena Boateng*, says the only person who can save cocoa farmers is the flagbearer of the NPP, *Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia*.
He therefore pleaded with Ghanaians to vote for him during the 2028 general elections.
_”We now know the ordeal of the cocoa farmers, but it is not too late. Let us vote for Bawumia in 2028 and he will save us,”_ he said.
He made these comments during a community engagement with the people of Abenase.
