The re-elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for Ledzokuku, Seth Nii Attoh Mensah Sowah, has pledged to unite party members and strengthen grassroots structures as he begins his second term.
Mr Attoh Mensah Sowah secured 1,169 votes out of 2,767 votes cast to retain the chairmanship in the party’s just-ended constituency elections.
Speaking to Citi News after his victory, he said unity and effective party structures would be crucial to consolidating the NDC’s position in the constituency and retaining the parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections.
“I will unite the rank and file of the party and ensure that the party structures work effectively. Again, the promises we made in 2024 will be fulfilled, and I will ensure that these promises are delivered,” he said.
He identified improvements to inner roads in the constituency as one of the priorities for fulfilling commitments made to residents ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Mr Attoh Mensah Sowah warned that internal divisions could give the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) an opportunity to make electoral gains in Ledzokuku.
“The focus will be on most of the constituency’s inner roads. We will consolidate the gains of the party towards the 2028 elections. The NPP can win when there is disunity among us, but I will ensure that does not happen,” he said.
He said his administration would focus on bringing members together, improving the effectiveness of party structures and preparing the NDC to retain the parliamentary seat in 2028.
