The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Tema West Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Issah, has slammed his Member of Parliament (MP), James Enu, for allegedly failing to engage constituency executives.
Issah warned that Enu’s approach could affect his political fortunes if he fails to address the issue, saying constituency executives play a crucial role in promoting and securing support for an MP within the constituency.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Afternoon Ghana on October 26, 2026, Issah said Enu appeared to give more attention to a group of individuals he described as a ‘cabal’ than to elected party executives.
“My MP, there’s some cabal around my MP, which I think is not helping my MP. As an MP, you can’t do away with your constituency executives because they are the people who can market you,” he said.
Issah alleged that the individuals in question were not constituency executive members but appeared to have greater access to Enu than the party’s local leadership.
He further claimed that several people had complained about difficulties reaching Enu by phone, adding that he sometimes struggled to contact the MP himself despite being the constituency chairman.
“I swear, even me myself, sometimes I find it difficult to get in touch with my MP,” he said, urging Enu to change his approach.
Issah, however, stressed that he remained committed to supporting Enu and wanted him to succeed.
He said his criticism was meant to highlight concerns that could affect Enu’s performance and political prospects.
“I will continue to support my MP. I will make sure that my MP succeeds,” Issah stated.
He added that party executives were aware of the concerns but suggested that it was ultimately up to the MP to address them.
