The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of the Capitation Grant for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a notice to Regional Directors of Education, Management said the funds had been transferred to the accounts of the various District Education Directorates for onward disbursement to basic schools.
The Service explained that the transfers to the district accounts included the Sports and Culture component for district offices, while the regional Sports and Culture allocations had been sent to designated accounts of the respective regional offices.
GES has therefore directed Regional Directors to ensure that the funds are transferred to schools on or before Friday, October 30, 2026, to enable heads of basic schools to operate smoothly.
Management further disclosed that a team from the GES headquarters would visit the regions for monitoring in the first week of November 2026.
It urged the Regional Directors to ensure the immediate transfer of the funds to schools ahead of the monitoring exercise.
“Management is counting on your usual cooperation,” the notice said.
