Ga north MCE Hon. Akwetey Agbo is abusing of office, grabbing individuals lands and undermining the rule of law.
This is not the first time. Some months ago, there was a publication that the MCE was involved in wrongful land grabbing. When his name was mentioned, the owner of the land lawyer’s warned letter was issued to him.
He denied involvement, but work continued on the land.
The latest case involves land at Fise which has a valid building permit duly issued by his own office at the Ga North Municipal Assembly, for which the client paid.
Shockingly, just after the Assembly issued the permit, the MCE allegedly rushed to the same land to start a CHPS Compound project.
The rightful owner, with title documents, wrote several letters to the MCE, but he ignored them. When the owner reported at the Police Station, the Police said they could not do anything and that he should go to court.
The owner went to court and served the processes at the Division to inform them that the case is in court, but work still continued. The officer MR.Peter ADJEI (AMASAMA divisional commander) still insisted they could not do anything.
The AMASAMA police commander(MR.PeterAdjei) intimidating the rightful owner of the said land with threats of arrest.That he would arrest him for trespassing.
It is alleged the MCE is working with Nathaniel Noi Addy (WO)who claims to be a National Security Officer overseeing all security activities in the Ga north on behalf of the National Security Coordinator, and Mr. Peter Adjei, the Divisional Police commander (AMASAMA).
At first residents doubted the Commander’s involvement, but his conduct shows his integrity may have been compromised.
Simply because the Mce happens to be the chairman of the Ga north security council or committee ,and the MCE has boasted around ,no one can stop his work even if u have a genuine document.
Intelligence has revealed a petition has be prepared to IGP at the National Headquarters and have also issued a writ which was served on him (Hon.Akwetey Agbo) yesterday, 15th October.
The MCE is abusing office to have insisted that no authority can stop him and that the project must continue, because funds have been allocated by the ministry of local government for the construction, and that the ministry has insisted work must not stop until it is completed on time.
Residents are therefore calling on the Minister for Local Government and the IGP to intervene and put measures in order
