The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has today, 16th October, 2026, restored calm at Manso-Nseina in the Ashanti Region following a shooting incident involving a police team and some youth of the town, which resulted in the death of one person and injury to one Police officer.
Preliminary investigation indicates that one person was shot when a mob from the town attacked the police and demanded the release of a suspect who had been arrested for a narcotics-related offence.
The body of the deceased person has been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the injured officer is receiving medical attention.
The Regional Commander and a team of officers visited the scene and engaged community leaders.
Security has since been intensified in the community while investigation continues.
