Dzifa Tegah, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced her intention to contest the Deputy National Secretary position in the party’s upcoming national executive elections scheduled for December 19.
She said her decision to seek the position was informed by her years of experience in grassroots mobilisation and party organisation, which she believes have prepared her to take on greater administrative responsibilities.
Speaking on Campaign Trail, an initiative of the NDC Communications Bureau and Elections Directorate, Ms Tegah outlined her political journey, which began during her university days.
She explained that her active involvement in party activities over the years had enabled her to rise through the ranks to become Deputy Women’s Organiser.
According to her, working closely with party members and visiting constituencies across the country had given her a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the party at the grassroots level.
Ms Tegah said she intended to use that experience to strengthen the relationship between the national secretariat and constituency executives if elected.
She indicated that her priority would be to assist the General Secretary in coordinating the party’s administrative activities while ensuring that the concerns of grassroots members received the necessary attention.
The aspirant expressed confidence in her ability to contribute to improving internal party administration, communication and coordination across the various levels of the NDC.
She maintained that effective collaboration between the national leadership and grassroots structures was essential to strengthening the party’s organisation.
Ms Tegah consequently appealed to delegates to endorse her candidature during the party’s national executive elections on December 19.
She expressed optimism that her experience, commitment and understanding of the party’s structures would enable her to contribute meaningfully to the work of the national secretariat.
