Ghanaian musician-turned-evangelist Yaw Siki has opened up about his past struggles with pornography addiction, revealing how his curiosity about adult content during his junior high school days eventually influenced his sexual behaviour.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on October 22, 2026, the former rapper said his exposure to pornography began when a friend told him that a classmate had brought a pornographic cassette from home.
According to him, although he had heard about pornography before, he had never watched it until curiosity prompted him to watch the video with others.
“When I was in JHS, out of curiosity, we had heard of porn, but I’d not watched it before. A friend of mine said a classmate of hers brought the cassette from home, so I was curious to watch.
“By watching it, that’s how my porn addiction began. Just by watching my first porn video, I started watching gradually, and I became addicted,” he said.
Yaw Siki explained that what began as occasional viewing gradually developed into an addiction, adding that he had become heavily dependent on pornography by the time he released his hit song Wope Dodo.
He further disclosed that pornography influenced his understanding of sex before his first sexual experience, which he said occurred when he was around 12 years old.
“By the time I released Wope dodo, I was a serious porn addict. I broke my virginity in class 6 to JHS 1 and I was about 12 years. The porn taught us how to do it so I already knew how to go about it,” he stated.
He continued, “When you watch porn, you become lustful and you will seriously desire to have sex. The one I watched with was a female friend so we just did it to each other.”
The evangelist also recounted how his sexual behaviour changed as he grew older.
He shared that by the time he reached senior high school, he had started masturbating, and after completing his education, he began paying for sex.
Yaw Siki noted that his outward appearance often gave people a different impression of him, making it difficult for them to imagine the lifestyle he was leading privately.
“By the time I got to SSS, I was masturbating. When I finished SSS, I was going for prostitutes. I looked innocent and gentle, so you would never imagine that. I would go and pay, then take the prostitutes home,” he added.
