Veteran Kumawood actor Fiifi Robertson, popularly known as Uncle Fii, has dismissed reports of his death after fake obituary posters bearing his image circulated on social media.
Several blogs shared the posters, which sparked rumours that the actor had passed away. Videos capturing people mourning and images of an obituary poster also circulated online, leading to confusion among some social media users.
However, Uncle Fii has dismissed the reports, stating that he is alive and does not know how the poster was shared online to create the impression that he had died.
The actor also expressed gratitude to his fans and the public for the love and concern they had shown him following the reports.
“Please, I am not dead. I am alive. I don’t know how the poster was put on social media to make it trend that way. I love you all so much, and I am truly grateful for the love you have shown me. But I am not dead, by His grace,” he said.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the videos and images circulating online are part of a movie project rather than evidence of the actor’s death.
The obituary poster bears the name Owura Kwakwa, which is different from the actor’s real name, Fiifi Robertson. The videos showing people mourning are also said to feature actors taking part in the production.
