One of the victims of the implicated headmaster of Obuasi SHTS, Zakaria Abdulai, has narrated her ordeal, alleging that she was sexually assaulted by the headmaster.

According to the student, her nightmare began when the headmaster invited her to his bungalow to run an errand.

She explained that the incident happened on July 25, 2026, adding that after arriving at his house, the headmaster allegedly forced her to stroke his manhood.

However, after she refused, Zakaria Abdulai allegedly raped her and later dragged her into his bedroom, where he allegedly assaulted her again.

“When I knocked at his door, he asked me to enter with my sandals. When I entered, he was wearing a singlet and boxer shorts. He asked me to sit down, but I was scared and didn’t know whether to leave or stay.

“He held my hand and pulled me onto a brown sofa. He held my hand and used it to rub his manhood and said he wanted to have sex with me, but I couldn’t do it. We struggled. He took off my shorts and forcibly had sex with me. After that, he dragged me into his bedroom and had sex with me again,” she said.

In the documentary filed by investigative journalist Manasseh Azure, the second-year student also claimed that the headmaster allegedly gave her GH¢100 to keep quiet or face the consequences.

According to the victim, who feared for her life, she took the GH¢100 and placed it in her Bible after returning to the dormitory.

“When I returned to the dormitory, I was distraught. I placed the GH¢100 he gave me in a Bible and was lying down crying over it. My friends asked me why I looked so distraught since returning from the headmaster’s bungalow; that was when I told them what had happened to me,” the victim said.

The second-year student also detailed how her house prefect reported the case to the housemistress, identified as Serwaa Felicia, who then directed her to the senior housemistress, Miriam Ali Bawa.

According to the victim, her complaint was not properly addressed by the senior housemistress, adding that another housemistress, identified as Stephanie Adwoa Yeboah, cautioned them not to inform anyone about the incident.

“…She said Madam Serwaa should have listened to me before bringing me to her instead of directing me straight away to her. So I went back to narrate what had happened to Madam Serwaa. Madam Serwaa then took me back to Madam Miriam to explain to her what had happened to me.

“In the process, another teacher, a housemistress called Madam Adwoa, came there, and they told her what happened. Madam Adwoa advised me not to mention it to anybody.”

“He held my hand and used it to rub his manhood, took off my shorts and forced himself on me. After that, he gave me GH¢100 and warned me not to mention it to anyone.”

This is the story of Victim A, who was r*ped by the headmaster of Obuasi SHTS but never got justice, even after reporting the incident to the appropriate authorities.
