The family of murdered mobile phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Dinero, is appealing to individuals who owe the deceased money to settle their debts as preparations for his funeral get underway.
The appeal comes nearly a month after the 33-year-old’s partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18, near the Accra-Tema Motorway, on September 21, 2026, following days of uncertainty over his whereabouts.
The family hopes that recovering the money owed to Dinero will help raise funds towards his funeral expenses as they prepare to lay him to rest.
The appeal is also directed at people who had outstanding financial dealings with the deceased in the course of his mobile phone business around the Kwame Nkrumah Circle area of Accra.
While mourning his death, the family is also seeking answers about the circumstances surrounding the incident, with investigations into the alleged kidnapping and murder still ongoing.
The family has also alleged that another phone dealer may be connected to Dinero’s murder, raising questions about whether other individuals could have been involved in the incident.
Dinero was reported missing after leaving his Kokomlemle residence on September 19, 2026, in his Honda Civic and failing to return. His partially burnt remains were discovered two days later, and his mother and an uncle subsequently identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue.
Police investigations have led to the arrest of Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai, who have appeared before the Teshie District Court in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder.
