The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, Zakaria Abdulai, to withdraw from the Juaben constituency chairmanship race or risk disqualification.

The directive was disclosed to Citi  News by the party’s Deputy National Communications Director, Julius Kwame Anthony.

Mr Abdulai, popularly known as Paapaa, is facing allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student. The allegations are currently under investigation.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted him pending the outcome of investigations into the matter.

According to the police, a 20-year-old Form Two student of Obuasi Senior High Technical School, accompanied by her father, lodged a complaint at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Obuasi on August 4, 2026.

The NDC’s directive comes as Mr Abdulai seeks to contest the chairmanship position in the party’s internal elections in the Juaben constituency.

The allegations against him remain under investigation, and no outcome has yet been established.
