A 19-year-old man has been arrested by the Gomoa Buduburam Divisional Police Command in connection with the alleged rape and killing of an 11-year-old girl at Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

Preliminary information indicates that the suspect allegedly lured the girl into his room, where he is accused of sexually assaulting her before killing her.

He allegedly moved the child’s body from the room and dumped it beside an uncompleted building.

The decomposing body was discovered after residents traced a foul odour to the bush where the partially naked body was dumped.

The Buduburam Divisional Police Command was at the scene as investigations began.

The body has been conveyed to the Police Hospital for further examination.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
