Director of the Mineral Titles Department at the Minerals Commission, Ing. Frank Asare Pedro, Esq., has expressed concern over the alleged sexual abuse of students at Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS), arguing that the headmaster had a responsibility to protect the students entrusted to his care.
Speaking on Asempa FM, Ing. Asare Pedro said the allegations were particularly disturbing because of the suspended headmaster, Abdullai Zakaria, who held a position of authority.
“He owed the girls a duty of care, but rather he allegedly devoured them. This is scary,” he stated.
He said the allegations involving 19 girls were too serious to be dismissed without a thorough investigation, urging law enforcement agencies to handle the matter diligently to ensure justice.
Ing. Asare Pedro also cautioned Zakaria against making statements that could further complicate the matter, particularly comments concerning the identity or circumstances of alleged victims.
